Two vehicles caught fire in separate inecidents On Monday August 8th. The first incident happened around 10:20 A.M. on I 64 West near the one hundred and nineteen mile marker. A vehicle crashed into the back of another vehicle and then caught fire. A secondary accident occurred behind the first accident as well. Both crashes caused minor injures and two people were taken to the hospital to be checked for further evaluation.
The second incident, Lafayette Twp was called for mutual aid to Ashberry Ln in New Chapel Fire Company’s District. A SUV was being used to cultivate a hay field. The vehicle caught fire, possibly from overheating engine parts, catching the field on fire as well. Lafayette responded Brush 15 to the scene and assisted in extinguishing the field and the vehicle. No one was injured in the fire.
