Floyd County Board of Commissioners issue a BURN BAN for Floyd County Indiana until further notice.
Effective immediately, the following activities are prohibited in Floyd County:
- Campfires and other recreational fires;
- Open burning of any kind, using wood or other combustible materials, with the exception of cooking grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or gas grills;
- The burning of timber, vegetation or construction materials;
- The use of burn barrels
- The use of ALL fireworks.
This will automatically renew each seven-day period until rescinded by either the commissioners or the Floyd County EMA Office.
All residents are called upon to directly comply with this Burn Ban. Drought conditions have increased the risk of wide spread fire hazards.
Any fires should be reported to 911 immediately. Fires have the potential to grow quickly out of control and threaten extensive damage to property, injuries or death.
