LEGAL NOTICE
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Lafayette Township Fire Protection District 4002 Scottsville Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana is
requesting sealed bid proposals for the purchase of Thirty (30) complete 4500 psi 45-minute
self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and Fourteen (14) additional high temperature
SCBA facepieces. The term “complete SCBA” is defined as One (1) backpack/harness, Two (2)
4500psi 45-minute cylinders, and One (1) high temperature face piece.
The bid documents and specifications are available at the Lafayette Township Fire Protection
District located at 4002 Scottsville Road Floyds Knobs, IN 47119 or can be forwarded to
interested bidders by email at ltvfdstation@ltvfd.org or by contacting Chief Klein or Deputy Chief
Herthel by phone (812) 923-8003. The Lafayette Township Fire Department reserves the right
to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and to be the sole judge of suitability of the
equipment or services for its intended use and further specifically reserve the right to make the
award in the best interests of the fire department and fire district. All equipment or services
listed in the bid documents and specifications are intended for a particular use by the fire
department in which it is to be utilized and must meet the requirements of that particular
division(s). Other factors to be considered in awarding the bid will be price, quality, compatibility,
and time required to make delivery. Unless otherwise specified by the bidder, the Lafayette
Township Fire Department reserves the right to accept any item in the bid and to award items to
one single provider.
The bid documents and specifications will be available from October 1, 2021 at 8:00 A.M. EST
and conclude October 20, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. EST. All bids shall be in a sealed package,
container or envelope, marked “Lafayette Township Fire Department SCBA Bid”. Bids will be
received and opened at Lafayette Township Fire Protection District 4002 Scottsville Road
Floyds Knobs, IN 47119 by parcel service, walk-in or hand delivery only. No proposals will be
accepted via US Postal delivery as we have experienced lengthy delays.
All questions and clarifications due by October 13, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. EST. Any bidder wanting
to offer a demonstration, will need to be scheduled and completed before October 19, 2021 at
4:00 P.M. EST. All bid packages will be due by October 20, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. EST. All bid
packages submitted by the advertised deadline will be opened October 21, 2021 at 7:00 P.M.
EST. The anticipated award date and notification to the successful bidder is October 28, 2021.
