Sunday morning, December 10th 6:40 AM, New Chapel Fire Company was dispatched to a structure fire at 6275 State Road 111 (South). A few minutes later, LTFPD was requested by New Chapel to assist with a engine company and a tanker. Lafayette sent Quad 11 and Tanker 12.
Reports were that no one was inside the home at the time of the initial dispatch. Due to the majority of the home being involved with fire and burning through the roof structure, firefighters could not enter the home. They extinguished the fire defensively from the exterior of the building. The fire was under control within thirty-minutes of the of the first crews arrival. Fire departments remained on scene several hours afterwards to make sure there wasn’t any hidden fires that could flare up again.
