On May 18th “A historic weekend is on tap in Greenville, celebrating Floyd County’s 200-year history…”. According to a press release from the Town of Greenville;
“On Saturday, May 18th, US 150 will be closed for 1.1 miles between Buttontown Road and Voyles Road, starting at 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. Over 60 different parade entries, from local school children to first responders, veterans groups to businesses across Floyd County will take part in the parade, which will start at noon. Viewing areas are designated along US 150 from Buttontown Road to Voyles Road. Along the route, food trucks, vendors, and other supporting event infrastructure will be stationed. Regular through traffic is recommended to utilize State Road 60 or State Road 64 in order to avoid the closure.”
There are no other direct routes back to US 150 Near the road closure. Motorist wishing to avoid the closure should use State road 64 through Georgetown, In or State road 60 (Grantline Rd.). Drivers of large and long vehicles (Mainly Semi-tractor trailers) should also be aware that roads around the route are not able to handle those vehicles and should plan to use State road 64 as the alternate route.
