Around 4:40 P.M. Saturday, April 13th, 2019 Lafayette Township Fire Protection District responded to a box alarm for a structure fire at 2390 Canal Ln. in Georgetown Twp, In.
First units arrived on scene and found heavy smoke conditions coming from all sides of the home. Firefighters gained access to the garage where the main body of fire was located.
Quad 11, from LTFPD, arrived on scene and stretched supply lines for water source and handlines to the interior of the home. Quad 11’s attack crew made entry to the home and searched for any fire that may have extended into the home.
The fire was controlled seventeen minutes after the initial dispatch. The homeowner was able to get out safely but was checked out for smoke inhalation. They refused to go to the hospital.
